Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Air Fryer Glazed Turkey Breast
Turkey: You only need a turkey breast and you want to make sure it will fit in your air fryer basket when it is thawed out.
Rub: For the rub that goes on the turkey first you need butter, minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, and sage; I try to use all fresh herbs.
Glaze: The glaze makes this recipe stand apart from all other turkeys so you will need dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and butter.
How to Cook Turkey Breast in an Air Fryer
Jump to RecipeSTEP 1 Place the turkey breast in a baking dish or on a platter and rub it all over with butter, garlic, and herbs.
STEP 2 Place the turkey breast meat side up in the basket. Cook for 1 hour, rotating it halfway.
STEP 3 When the cooking time is up, use a meat thermometer to measure that the meat has an internal temperature of 160 degrees F before you remove it from the air fryer.
STEP 4 When the turkey has about 10 minutes left to cook, make the glaze. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the mustard, vinegar, brown sugar, orange juice, and orange zest, and then simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the butter.
STEP 5 Brush the glaze all over the turkey breast, and then air fry for another 2-3 minutes at 375 degrees F to caramelize the glaze. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Tips & Tricks
- Make sure your turkey breast is thawed completely and let it come up to room temp for at least 30 minutes prior to cooking. You need to make sure there is nothing inside the cavity of the turkey breast, sometimes there is a turkey gravy packet if it is a bone-in breast.
- A boneless turkey breast may cook faster than bone-in. Be sure to keep your meat thermometer handy so you can make sure you don’t under or over cook the turkey breast.
- If you have a skin-on breast be sure to rub the butter under AND over the skin. This is a great way to get a bit more moisture into the turkey as it cooks. If you like., you can double the rub mixture.
- When I make this air fryer turkey breast recipe on weeknights I usually skip the glaze. The rub alone is delicious and makes the skin crispy and the meat nice and moist.
