How to Make Graham Cracker Pralines
Jump to RecipeSTEP 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper (or foil). Arrange the graham crackers in a single layer over the parchment paper. You may need to break up some of the crackers to fill in the gaps around the edges and in the corners. To make the caramel-praline, add the butter and brown sugar to a medium saucepan, and place it over medium heat.

STEP 2 Stir until the mixture has melted. Bring this to a boil, stirring constantly, and continue to boil for 1 minute while stirring. Add the chopped pecans to the saucepan and stir them into the caramel.

STEP 3 Pour the caramel over the graham crackers. Place the caramel graham crackers in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

STEP 4 Once out of the oven, sprinkle toffee bits over the graham crackers and press them into the caramel using a spatula.

STEP 5 Allow the graham cracker praline to cool to room temperature and then break it into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!

Tips & Tricks
- You can substitute light brown sugar for dark brown sugar but the dark brown sugar gives the treats a richer flavor.
- Breaking the graham cracker praline is easier to do if you let it sit overnight but it can also be done once the cracker praline has cooled for an hour or two.
- If you like you can use chocolate-covered toffee bits instead! Whichever toffee you choose, it’s best to wait to sprinkle those on top and not stir them into the caramel.
- Store graham cracker praline in an airtight container for 1 week or tightly wrapped in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Graham Cracker Praline Recipe FAQ
What does praline consist of?
Pralines are a confection made with sugar, nuts, and cream. Brought by French settlers to Louisiana in the 1800s, the recipe was adapted to include pecans and cream. Caramelly and fudge-like, pralines are made by heating pecans, brown sugar, and cream into a thick mixture and then dropping by the spoonful onto wax paper. This delicious Southern sweet is enjoyed as it is or is also popularly ground up to include in other candies, confections, and as a topping for ice cream.
What’s the difference between praline crack and Christmas crack?
There are some big similarities between praline crack and Christmas crack- they both have a cracker base, caramel sauce, and a topping. But believe me when I say that the difference in flavor is big enough that you should do a side-by-side comparison and thank me later for how delicious that was! Christmas crack has a sweet and salty flavor, thanks to the saltine crackers, and is topped with caramel and a layer of melted chocolate. Praline crack, on the other hand, is all amazing sweetness, with its graham crackers, caramel, and toffee topping. Both are irresistible and easy to make so bake up a batch of each!

Notes
- Nutritional information will vary based on the number and size of the pieces you bream the praline sheet into.
- Depending on the size of your baking sheet, you may need more or fewer graham crackers to cover the bottom of the pan completely.
- If you want to substitute unsalted butter, be sure to stir in 1/4 teaspoon of salt into the butter and brown sugar mixture.
- Light brown sugar can be used instead of dark brown sugar.
- You can omit the pecans if desired. If you want to leave off the toffee bits, but keep the pecans, add the pecans on top instead of stirring them into the praline mixture.
