Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Pour in the gin, tequila, vodka, rum, triple sec, and sweet & sour mix. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds until chilled.
Fill a collins glass with ice. Strain the shaker into the glass and top with Coke.
Add a lemon slice for garnish and serve.
I've used all kinds of cola to make a long island over the years. Coke is really the best choice. Store brand cola would be my 2nd choice with Pepsi in 3rd. But you can use whatever cola you have on hand. For a crowd: Add 3/4 cup each of gin, tequila, vodka, rum, and triple sec to a 2-quart pitcher. Pour in 2 cups of sweet and sour mix and stir. Chill in the fridge. Pour into ice-filled glasses, top each cocktail with some Coke, and garnish with lemon.
