Ingredients
4
mint leaves
1
large lime
1 ¼
ounces
silver rum
4
ounces
blood orange Italian soda
Soda water
Ice
Instructions
Cut the lime in half, not end to end. From on side, cut a lime wheel and set it aside.
Place 3 mint leaves in the bottom of a rocks or collins glass. Muddle the mint until it becomes fragrant.
Squeeze one lime half into the glass, extracting as much juice as you can. (You can discard the lime or put it in your drink, whichever you like.)
Fill the glass with ice. Pour in the rum.
Fill the glass halfway with Italian soda, and then fill the rest of the way with soda water.
Place the last mint leaf on top and garnish the glass with a lime wheel.
Notes
If you don't have Italian soda, you can substitute 2 tablespoons fresh blood orange juice and 3/4 ounce simple syrup (or more to taste).
