Iced Tea
Add 4 cups of water to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the tea bags to the hot water and steep for 5 minutes.
Add 4 cups of cold water to a pitcher. Remove the tea bags from the pot and gently squeeze to release any tea from the bags. Pour the tea into the pitcher.
Stir in the baking soda, lemon juice, and peach syrup. Add more peach syrup to taste. Chill for 1 hour before serving over ice with sliced lemons.
Notes
The peach syrup recipe yields about 1 1/2 cups of syrup. Store any extra syrup in an air tight container in the fridge.
Early Grey and Lipton black tea both work great for this recipe. Earl Grey gives a smoothness to the tea.
Baking soda is used to smooth out any bitter flavor in the tea and can be omitted it you prefer.
